I’m still here!

Hello! Wow – it’s been a long time since I blogged last.  I started this blog a short while ago thinking I typically have a lot of free time on Saturday afternoons and I wanted to fill that time with something constructive and enjoyable.  What I didn’t anticipate was that life would get in the way as much as it has, leaving me little time to sit down and record my thoughts!  What have I done over the past few weeks??? Let’s see…  I painted our bedroom. The comforter you see in the photo comes with a ton of those … Continue Reading →

Goals

I’m going to get a quick post in tonight before heading to bed to start the week.  I have an early morning with Workout A in Best Body Bootcamp to look forward to tomorrow morning when my alarm goes off at 5:00 am.  Surrenders are on the docket again  - I’m nervous!  Hopefully I won’t be sore for quite as long this time around. We’ll see!  It’s a great workout and I increase my strength from the unique moves she has us do. Here are my workouts from the previous week: Monday – Workout A from BBB Tuesday – Rest … Continue Reading →

Turning the Corner

Happy Saturday! I have had a crazy week that was pretty busy and didn’t leave much time for blogging, so it’s good to get back at it!! This morning, I got up and went to Title Boxing for yet another great workout!  Let me tell you, if you’re looking for a full solid hour of intense cardio, you really should try boxing or kickboxing. Their commercials say you can burn 1000 calories an hour.  I’m not sure if that’s true for me (I didn’t wear my heart rate monitor), but I’m sure I burned at least 500 during the workout. … Continue Reading →

Good Friday weather

A Great Day!

Hello there!  Happy Easter weekend! Yesterday, I had one of the best days!  The weather here in Kansas City has been very wintery and cold and even though Spring officially started on March 20, it’s been snowing and freezing almost every day since then.  However, yesterday, it finally got into the mid-60′s and it was sunny and hardly any clouds and I probably thanked God about 1000 times for the beautiful weather!  It was stunning and perfect and the best antidote for the coldest, longest winter I remember having! I was able to get outside and do a short run yesterday!  Praise … Continue Reading →

Because I FEEL like it!

Remember those days when you were a kid and you were playing happily with a friend or laying comfortably on the couch watching TV and suddenly you were told by a parent to complete an unpleasant chore? If you were anything like I was as a child, you probably protested. Why? For me, it came down to simply not wanting to because I didn’t feel like it. What does that mean? To feel or not feel like doing something. At the end of the day, it comes down to motivation – is what we are doing now outweighing the negative … Continue Reading →

Title Boxing

Kickboxing

Happy Saturday! My plans definitely ended up different than they started out for the weekend.  I was supposed to visit a couple of collage girlfriends in Wichita, which is about a three hour drive.  However, yesterday, the weather forecast started looking grim for today.  Sleeting rain turning to about a foot of snow.  My friends and I cancelled our plans and I stayed home in Kansas City. Hopefully we can reschedule very soon – I miss them and was really looking forward to hanging out!  AND to top it off, the weather is doing NOTHING so far.  I’ll be disappointed if … Continue Reading →

Trader Joe's

Discoveries

Hello!  I hope your week is going well.  This week has gone fast and slow at the same time if that is possible.  It’s snowing again in Kansas City and we’re expected to get more this weekend.  Oh the joy.  I really want some 50 – 60 degree weather!! Well, since the weather isn’t cooperating this Spring, I thought I’d talk today about some awesome discoveries I’ve made in the recent past. When we first got word that Trader Joe’s was coming to Kansas City, my facebook feed lit up with tons of excited friends posting about their joy to be … Continue Reading →
